The Monogram

By definition, a monogram is a motif of initials in an overlapping or combining manner of two or more letters. Monograms are a beautiful way to symbolize the union of a couple as a logo that can be used for decorative purposes such as wedding stationery, menus, programs, napkins, cake decor, dance floor hologram, personalized towels, china, and so much more. The essence of the wedding monogram is used the same way logos are used in business… it is a form of branding. The monogram leaves a memorable impression on your guests and it is the ultimate touch of personalization within your wedding.

There are several ways a monogram can be created. The options are as follows:

• Bride and Groom first initials
• Bride and Groom first initials plus initial of groom last name
• Same-sex couples can choose their own order/preference

The styling of the monogram can be endless too! One can take a classic script font style or go modern/contemporary. We personally like for the bride to have a “feminine” or fancy font and the groom to have a “masculine” bold font. This tends to be our default styling unless the couple decides to incorporate other symbols like a heart, or star, or even a fleur de lis (New Orleanians are obsessed with the fleur de lis symbol….. no seriously, it is a big deal).

Whatever the couple decides, it is most important that the monogram reflects the personality of the couple and the letters can be easily understood and identified in the design.
